We offer cognitive assessments to support the admission process to private schools and advanced academic programs. Our assessments are administered individually by an experienced clinician who will help your child feel comfortable so they can have a positive experience and perform well.

What is Cognitive Testing?

Cognitive assessments provide an estimate of your child’s current functioning in verbal comprehension, visual spatial skills, working memory, fluid reasoning, and processing speed. We currently administer the Wechsler Preschool and Primary Scale of Intelligence (WPPSI) for children ages 3-6 or the Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children (WISC-V) for children ages 6-16.

What to Expect

We will start by scheduling a phone call to discuss your goals and any specific needs your child may have to support them in feeling confident and comfortable on the day of testing. Testing is completed in one session, which typically takes 2-3 hours. You will receive a written copy of the results within a few weeks of your child’s testing session. This report will include all information schools will need for admissions and/or advanced academics placement. You will also have the opportunity to meet with the examiner to discuss the results of testing and ask any questions you may have.
