MEET THE TEAM
Audrey Chadwick, MSW
Supervisee in Social Work
I am a Supervisee in Social Work at Fairfax Place Therapy. As a therapist and social worker, I believe in the power of building meaningful connections with clients to create opportunities for them to discover their resilience and full potential. I strive to understand and learn the inner values of all clients and I find that there is tremendous therapeutic power in meeting a person where they are. Feeling heard and seen is a powerful experience that can set the course for growth and change. When working with both adult and child clients, I aim to attune to the needs of each unique client, incorporating a strength-based approach along with different modalities, including cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, play therapy, and mindfulness.
While pursuing my Master’s Degree, I gained a strong passion for working with clients of all ages with a specific focus on complex trauma, depression, anxiety, and coping skill development. I have experience as a domestic violence counselor, providing psychodynamic counseling and practicing play therapy with children and adolescents impacted by violence within the home. During my education, I had the opportunity to work as a hospital forensics violence advocate, which helped to develop my understanding of the impact of trauma and the power of human connection. When working with you or your child, I am deeply committed to establishing connection, growth, and healing. My goal is to meet the needs of various types and severities of trauma and to provide a safe place for clients to process their individual life experiences.
I strongly believe that it is my ethical duty to provide a space that invites and supports the diversity of each individual. I practice from a place of cultural humility and an openness to continuous learning, specifically around the social injustices that impact my clients’ experiences of the world and their own well-being.
I am a Supervisee in Social Work in the Commonwealth of Virginia and provide services under the supervision of Rachel Rosenberg, LCSW, RPT-S.
