MEET THE TEAM

I am a Supervisee in Social Work here at Fairfax Place Therapy. As a social worker, I prioritize a strengths-based approach, and I deeply value the importance of human relationships. I believe the therapeutic relationship is essential in cultivating a brave space to facilitate connection and healing. Another cornerstone of connection is meeting people where they are. To do so, I am committed to intentionally listening to understand, and showing up as my authentic self. To best fit you or your child’s needs, I aim to pull from different skills and therapeutic approaches including cognitive-behavioral therapy, psychodynamic therapy, mindfulness, and motivational interviewing.

Prior to pursuing my Master’s in Social Work, I worked in an elementary school as a special education paraeducator. I have clinical experience working with clients of all ages, focusing on depression, anxiety, social skills building, substance use, and co-occurring mental health issues. I have also worked with individuals experiencing homelessness on a street outreach team, where I practiced from a harm reduction and housing-first perspective. I am interested in cultivating new skills and specialties as a Supervisee and have a particular interest in working with the LGBTQIA2S+ population as well.

In my practice, I recognize that folks do not exist in a vacuum of the therapeutic office. The complexities and layers of our identity are central to how we move through the world – we are all impacted every day, on different levels, by different systems of privilege and oppression. I am committed to the life-long process of learning and unlearning, in order to be an ally to marginalized communities and to serve my clients as an intersectional and inclusive therapist.
